WATERSTOP bentonite tape is an expanding sealing tape made of high-quality bentonite and rubber, designed to protect working joints during concreting against water. The bentonite sealing tape in contact with water increases its volume, filling cracks, gaps and voids in concrete. High flexibility and small size allow to speed up the assembly work and facilitate work in hard-to-reach places.
Waterstop RX in a closed concrete structure creates an active water barrier. It can be used in parallel with other systems protecting the concrete structure against water penetration. The bentonite swelling tape allows you to increase the waterproofing of the entire facility without the need for additional materials, concrete overhangs and PVC tapes welding.
Bentonite sealing tape is designed to seal objects under constant exposure to water and in periodic cycles (I can withstand hydrostatic pressure). The minimum cover for each edge should be approximately 80 mm. The tape is used for concrete where the minimum compressive strength is 20N / mm ? , and the walls of the concrete structure are 200 mm thick or more.

Application
The expanding cord is intended for horizontal and vertical sealing of construction joints and all connections of reinforced concrete and concrete elements in areas with pour new and old, hardened concrete. Especially swelling bentonite tape is used in partitions of irregular and complicated geometric shape, where high tightness is required . Bentonite cord is also used for concrete elements of wells, septic tanks, and for sewer, water and installation pipes. It can also be used in connections of prefabricated structures and in various types of water reservoirs.
Example of bentonite tape assembly
The tape is installed on clean and water-free surfaces ( a damp surface is allowed). All dirt, dirt, rust and other residues from construction works should be removed. Press the ends of the tape in a way that ensures proper adhesion - avoid overlapping the tape at the ends. The tape should be cut and laid in continuous sections so as to minimize the number of joints. A minimum concrete cover of of 80 mm should be ensured. The intumescent sealing tape can be installed with the use of steel mesh and nails, only nails or with the use of assembly glue. Nails should be fastened every 25-30 cm, and in the case of steel mesh also in places with additional overlap.
Before concreting, carefully check that there are no voids between the substrate and the tape along the entire installation line < / strong>. The product should be dry and unswollen during installation. In the event of rainfall or water approach, the product must be covered with waterproof material until concreting. If the product swells before pouring the next concrete layer, must be replaced with a new one.
When sealing pipes and channels in installation passages, the tape should be cut and then glued with assembly glue. The braid made in this way should be additionally glued at the connection point in order to prevent the tape from unrolling.
