Adhesives for tiles

The classification of adhesives is based on the European standard PN EN 12004. According to it, they are classified by type and class. We distinguish following types of adhesives (due to their chemical composition):

C - cement,

D - dispersions,

R - reactants (based on synthetic resins: polyurethane epoxy).

Adhesives classified according to their technical parameters:

1. Normally binding

2. Elevated parameters

The adhesives classes due to the additional requirements are:

F - fastening,

T - reduced flow,

E - longer elongation time.

In addition to DIN EN 12002, adhesives can be divided according to the deformability cross-linked to:

S1 - deformable straps - 2.5 to 5 mm,

S2 - highly deformable straps over 5 mm.

Therefore, the mortar marked with C2 has better adhesion properties than ordinary C1 mortar. Adhesive marked with C2 S1 is characterized by additional deformability and C2 S2 with high deformability. C2 TE is a fast-acting cementitious adhesive with increased adhesion and reduced runoff, C2 FT S1, a fastening, deformable, cementitious adhesive with increased traction and reduced flow.
